CGC and SGC are now supported on Alt Instant Pricer

Your favorite tool just got even better with the addition of CGC and SGC to our Instant Pricer technology. Quickly access comps, pop reports, and Alt Value with the snap of an image.

How does it work?

1. Open your Alt app
2. Tap the camera icon in the top right of the Search tab
3. Take a clear photo of any CGC, SGC, PSA, or BGS slab utilizing the guides to get the best results. Currently only support new CGC labels with the cert on the front.
4. That’s it! Alt will pull up the Research page of that card for you.

‍

Do you support slabs with older labels?

Currently, older CGC slabs, where the cert is on the back of the card are not supported in the Instant Pricer update so you will get an error message if you attempt to scan a non-supported slab.

My scan didn’t work. Now what?

If you receive an error message on a scan of a supported slab (CGC, SGC, PSA, and BGS), try to take a new image and ensure that:

1. The cert number is in focus
2. The entire card is included in the image
3. There is no glare or obstructions in the image

What does Instant Pricer pull up and how do I use it?

When you Instant Price a card or search for an item on Alt, you may be taken to two places. If the card is a live listing, you will be taken to the listing page. If it is not listed, you are taken to the Research page. Pages include:

• The standardized title of the card
• The print run (if applicable)
• The Alt Value and a trend line with different time views - this will not be available if the listing is live
• The confidence of the Alt Value and an Alt Value range - this will not be available if the listing is live
• The current pop report
• Recent transactions with click through capabilities to see that recent sale
• A drop down to toggle between different grades of that item or view the card across all grades - this is only available on research pages
• The player trend line and Alt Index over 90 Days
• The category trend line and Alt Index over 90 Days
• Live listings that are similar to the card listed across Alt, eBay, Fanatics Collect, and Goldin

Get specific with your research by selecting a grade from the pop report, adjusting the Alt Value by time, or clicking through recent sales to view images of the cards and get a sense of patches and eye appeal.

What is Alt Value based on?

Alt Value is calculated from a combination of confirmed sales and market trends. When we have a lot of recent transaction data, the Alt Value will be close to most recent sales, when data is sparse, we leverage comparable sales and use them as anchors to come up with a range. We also factor in comparable recent sales from similar players. Our valuation model is updated daily to ensure Alt Value is as accurate as possible and is supported by a team of experts to account for outliers and factors like patches and rarity.

What is Alt Value confidence?

That bar underneath the Alt Value is the confidence measurement of the valuation. When we have a lot of data points (that card is traded often and publicly and the sales are verified) the confidence will be High. When a card does not have a lot of recent transactions, is extremely rare, or is new to the market the confidence will range from medium to low and indicates that our range for Alt Value may not have enough data points to be completely accurate.

If I don’t want to use Instant Pricer but want to view comps on a card, what can I do?

From Desktop or the Alt app:

1. Utilize the search bar to access a card’s Research page
2. To search for a card, simply type in the name of the card and include as much detail as possible including year and what it is serial numbered out of (ex: /10)
   1. If it is a PSA or BGS slab, you can also search by typing in the cert number
3. All current and active listings of a card will appear from across online marketplaces, scroll past these to the bottom of the page, here you’ll see the Research results for your search
4. When you click in - you’ll be on the Research page of that specific card
