The 1999 Pokémon Base Set #2 Blastoise Holo is one of the anchor holographic cards from the trading card game's inaugural English release. Graded Mint 9 by PSA, this card features illustration work by Ken Sugimori framed by the set's original foil pattern. According to PSA population records, 4,941 examples have achieved this grade.
As the final Stage 2 evolution of Squirtle, Blastoise stands alongside Charizard and Venusaur as part of the original trio of holographic starters in the 102-card set published by Wizards of the Coast. Beyond its historic role in Base Set hierarchy, the card defined early competitive gameplay through its Rain Dance Pokémon Power, which enabled unlimited Water Energy attachments per turn.Show more
