Distributed to commemorate the grand opening of the New York Pokémon Center, this 2001 Pokémon Black Star Promo #41 Lucky Stadium features artwork by "Big Mama" Tagawa. Graded CGC 7.5 Near Mint+, the slab documents subgrades of 8.5 for Centering, 6.5 for Surface, 8 for Corners, and 8.5 for Edges. The CGC population report records 10 copies at this exact grade level.
Issued during the Wizards of the Coast era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, Black Star Promo #41 holds a distinct place among early promotional releases. Unlike standard expansion set cards, regional Lucky Stadium promos were tied directly to specific physical locations and major venue openings, with this English edition dedicated to the flagship Rockefeller Center store in New York City. The illustration references the venue directly, depicting Charizard, Pikachu, and Pichu soaring over the Manhattan skyline above the building's custom rooftop stadium pad.Show more
