The 1996 Pokémon Japanese Base Set Pikachu #25 features original artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita from the franchise's debut trading card release. This example is the No Rarity Symbol variant, denoting the true initial print run of the Japanese Base Set before standard rarity marks were added to the lower right corner. Graded PSA 8 Near Mint-Mint, the card maintains a population of 384 at this tier according to the PSA report. Released in October 1996, the Japanese Expansion Pack established the foundational mechanics and aesthetic of the Pokémon TCG. Because No Rarity cards were produced exclusively during the product's premier distribution window, they serve as the Japanese functional equivalent to 1st Edition releases, making this original Pikachu print a key historical anchor for vintage set collectors.Show more
