This 1999 Pokémon Base Set Shadowless Charizard #4 Holo is graded BGS 8 Near Mint-Mint by Beckett Grading Services. The grade is supported by subgrades of 9 for Centering, 8.5 for Surface, 8 for Edges, and 8 for Corners. Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, the card depicts Charizard in its original Base Set pose set against a starfoil background. According to the Beckett population report, 342 copies have received this BGS 8 grade.
Shadowless Base Set cards represent the initial corrected print run from Wizards of the Coast in 1999, produced after the initial 1st Edition run and before the introduction of the standard Unlimited layout. This variant is defined by the absence of a drop shadow on the right border of the art box, lighter HP text, and the expanded copyright date line including 1999. As card #4 in the set, Charizard is the primary chase card of the inaugural English Pokémon expansion.Show more
