Graded PSA 10 Gem Mint, this 1999 Pokémon Fossil Aerodactyl Holo #1 features artwork by illustrator Kagemaru Himeno. Out of all submissions evaluated by PSA, only 71 copies have achieved this Gem Mint 10 grade. As the Unlimited holographic version from the third expansion of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, this card displays the prehistoric Pokémon set against a multi-color foil background. Achieving a Gem Mint designation requires centering, corners, and edges to meet PSA's stringent criteria, which is a difficult standard to sustain for vintage paper stock from this era.
Released in 1999 by Wizards of the Coast, the Fossil set completed the initial trio of core expansions alongside Base Set and Jungle. Aerodactyl holds the distinction of being card #1/62 in the set checklist, serving as the lead holographic card for the expansion. The Fossil release introduced players to resurrected prehistoric Pokémon and finalized the original 151 Pokédex lineup in card form, making this card a foundational piece of the franchise's early western history.Show more
