Graded BGS 8.5 NM-MT+, this 1996-97 E-X2000 #30 card captures Kobe Bryant during his rookie season with the Los Angeles Lakers. The slab features subgrades of 9.5 for Centering, 9.5 for Edges, 9 for Corners, and 8 for Surface. Launched by SkyBox in 1996 as a premier standalone brand, the inaugural E-X2000 set altered 1990s card production by integrating a die-cut picture frame border around a translucent acetate backdrop. Due to the combination of delicate foil borders and layered plastic stock, high-grade condition preservation is notoriously difficult for this release.
Selected 13th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft, Bryant put together a 20-year career with the Lakers that included five NBA championships, two Finals MVP awards, the 2007-08 NBA MVP award, and 18 All-Star selections.
