Released in 2016 as part of the Pokémon XY Black Star Promo line, this Magikarp #XY143 was made available through the Shiny Mega Gyarados Collection box. Illustrated by Saya Tsuruta, the holofoil card features the golden Shiny color variant of Magikarp. Graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA, this example represents the highest grade assigned by the grading service, with a population of 574 copies in PSA 10.
During the XY Series, promo cards highlighting Shiny Pokémon were distributed outside of standard booster expansion packs through sealed box products. This card features 30 HP alongside the single attack Epic Splash, which relies on two coin flips to deliver 30 damage. It remains a notable promotional issue from the mid-2010s Pokémon TCG era.Show more
