This 1993 Magic: The Gathering Unlimited Edition Black Lotus represents a blue-chip TCG asset and a cornerstone acquisition for any premier trading card collection. Graded a Mint 9 by Beckett Grading Services (BGS), this Rare card features highly strong subgrades of 9.5 for Corners, 9 for Edges, 9 for Surface, and 8.5 for Centering. According to the BGS population report, there are 199 examples graded at the Mint 9 level, highlighting its scarcity in high-grade preservation. Illustrated by the late Christopher Rush, this artifact is widely recognized as the single most iconic card in gaming history.
Released in December 1993, the Unlimited Edition was the third print run of Magic's debut release, transitioning the game to white borders while retaining the original rules and exact card list of Alpha and Beta. As the centerpiece of the legendary "Power Nine," Black Lotus is permanently protected by Wizards of the Coast's Reserved List policy, guaranteeing that this original printing will never be functionally replicated. Given its foundational role in tabletop gaming history and limited surviving population, this Mint 9 example stands as an investment-grade piece of hobby history.Show more
