Graded CGC Gem Mint 10, this 1999 Pokémon Base Set 1st Edition Holo Zapdos #16 represents one of the defining holofoil cards from the debut English Pokémon Trading Card Game release. Illustrated by Ken Sugimori, card #16 features the Kanto Legendary Bird set against the classic Shadowless yellow border and foil pattern. According to CGC population reports, 17 examples have achieved the Gem Mint 10 grade.
Released by Wizards of the Coast in 1999, the 1st Edition Base Set established the official launch of the English TCG franchise. The 1st Edition print run is distinguished by its limited production, the absence of the drop shadow along the art frame, and the 1st Edition stamp. As one of the original 16 holofoil rare cards in the 102-card set, high-grade examples of Zapdos remain key historical pillars of vintage Pokémon collecting.Show more
