This 1997 Japanese Team Rocket Dark Blastoise is a quintessential piece of vintage Pokémon history, illustrated by the legendary Mitsuhiro Arita. Holding a PSA 9 Mint grade with a population of 3,314, this card represents a pivotal era for the franchise. The Team Rocket expansion, or Rocket Gang in Japan, was the first set to introduce 'Dark' Pokémon, which featured unique gameplay mechanics and a more mature artistic direction that shifted the identity of the early TCG. As one of the original 'Big Three' starters, Blastoise always commands attention, and this Japanese holofoil version is particularly notable for its distinct foil pattern and original back design which predates the international release. The card remains a foundational target for collectors focusing on 1990s Japanese sets and character-specific master sets, reflecting the enduring legacy of the franchise's first major mechanical evolution.Show more
