Released in September 2019 to commemorate the grand opening of the Pokémon Center Osaka DX, this Japanese Sun & Moon promo (#407/SM-P) features the Pretend Comedian Pikachu artwork illustrated by Kouki Saitou. The card depicts a duo of Pikachu performing traditional Japanese manzai stand-up comedy in matching blue suits, anchored by the official Pokémon Center Osaka DX logo stamp in the lower corner of the art frame. Graded BGS 10 Pristine by Beckett Grading Services, the card earned subgrades of 10 for Centering, 10 for Corners, 10 for Surface, and 9.5 for Edges. The Beckett population report records 11 examples graded at this BGS 10 Pristine level.
Japanese Pokémon Center venue-opening promotional cards were distributed exclusively on-site during designated store launch periods, limiting original availability to physical visitors. This release references Osaka's regional cultural connection to manzai comedy, distinguishing it as a location-specific thematic promo within the broader Sun & Moon SM-P promotional sequence.Show more
