The 2006 Pokémon Japanese Holon Phantom Gyarados Gold Star #008 is graded BGS 8.5 NM-MT+ with subgrades of 9.5 for Centering, 9 for Corners, 8.5 for Edges, and 8.5 for Surface. Featuring artwork by Masakazu Fukuda, this 1st Edition Japanese card stands out as one of the definitive releases of the EX era. According to the BGS population report, 22 copies have earned this grade.
First introduced in the EX Series, Gold Star cards were designed with shiny character art breaking the standard frame and carried a game mechanic restricting players to a single Gold Star card per deck. This Gyarados utilizes the Delta Species concept, depicting the traditional Water-type Pokémon as a Fire-type. Released as part of Japan's 2006 Holon Phantom expansion, the card remains a focal point of third-generation Pokémon TCG set design.Show more
