This 1999 Pokémon Base Set Shadowless Charizard #4 is graded BGS 7.5 Near Mint+. The subgrade breakdown includes an 8.5 for Centering, 7.5 for Corners, 7.5 for Edges, and a 7 for Surface. According to BGS population data, 245 copies have earned this overall grade. Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, the card displays the iconic Fire-type Stage 2 Pokémon set against the classic holographic background.
Shadowless cards designate the distinct second print run of the original 1999 English Base Set, produced after 1st Edition but before the standard Unlimited release. Identifiable by the absence of a drop shadow to the right of the illustration frame, thinner text for the HP stat, and the full 1999 Wizards of the Coast copyright line, Shadowless cards represent an important early printing phase in the Trading Card Game's history. Positioned as card #4 of 102 in the set, Charizard is the primary chase card of the original Base Set expansion.Show more
