The 2001 CoroCoro Comic Japanese Promo Shining Mew #151 is graded BGS 9.5 Gem Mint, featuring subgrades of Centering 9, Corners 10, Edges 9.5, and Surface 9.5. Illustrated by Hironobu Yoshida, this promotional release was distributed exclusively attached to the May 2001 issue of Japan's CoroCoro Comic magazine. According to the Beckett population report, 122 copies have achieved this grade. This is an investment-grade card.
Shining Mew stands as a pioneer in Pokémon TCG print history, showcasing an early foil process where the character artwork itself receives a glittered holographic finish distinct from standard background holos. Because the card was attached directly inside a publication without protective packaging, mint condition copies are exceptionally difficult to recover due to edge wear and surface scuffing. The card face bears the printed mechanical restriction limiting players to one Shining Mew in a deck, along with its attacks Flash Search and Mysterious Flame.Show more
