The 1986 Star "The 1986 Playoffs" Michael Jordan #8 documents one of the most famous individual postseason runs in basketball history. Graded Mint 9 by Beckett Grading Services, this copy earned individual subgrades of 8.5 for Centering, 9 for Corners, 9 for Edges, and 9.5 for Surface. The BGS population report records 88 examples at this grade. Due to Star Company's poly-bag distribution methods and original factory production traits, high-grade examples from this era are difficult to acquire in preserved condition. Card #8 in the 10-card subset highlights Jordan's performance during the 1986 first-round series against the Boston Celtics, where he set the NBA playoff single-game scoring record with 63 points in Game 2. Jordan's career record includes six NBA championships, six Finals MVPs, five regular-season MVPs, and a 2009 induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Produced during his second NBA season, this early Star Co. release represents an important artifact from the beginning of Jordan's career.Show more
