The 2023 Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promo Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat #085 was produced as a special collaboration between The Pokémon Company and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. Illustrated by Naoyo Kimura, the artwork replicates the brushstroke style of Vincent van Gogh's 1887 oil painting Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat, featuring Pikachu alongside the Pika-Portrait attack. Graded PSA 10 Gem Mint, this example represents the highest official grade awarded by PSA, which reports a population of 50,226 at this tier.
Created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Van Gogh Museum, the promo was distributed through select Pokémon Center online orders and physical museum distribution in late 2023. As an unnumbered Black Star Promo outside the main set expansion structure, the release stands as one of the most prominent fine-art crossover cards in the history of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.Show more
