EX Team Rocket Returns marked the historic debut of Gold Star cards in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, introducing shiny Pokémon variants with character artwork extending past the traditional frame. Inserted at an estimated rate of approximately one per two booster boxes, these cards established a new standard for chase rarity during the EX Series era.
