This 2001 Japanese Pokémon Promos #151 Shining Mew features the distinctive Cosmos Holofoil finish and artwork by illustrator Hironobu Yoshida. Released exclusively as an insert in the May 2001 issue of CoroCoro Comic, this example is graded Near Mint 7 by Beckett Grading Services (BGS). The overall grade is established by subgrades of Centering 9, Corners 8.5, Edges 8, and Surface 6, with this card representing a BGS population of 5 at this grading tier.
As a historic promo release, this card occupies a unique position in the Pokémon Trading Card Game as the only Shining Pokémon card designed with a Cosmos Holofoil pattern, contrasting with the textured foil pattern utilized in mainstream Neo-era expansions. Because the card was originally distributed inside a paper magazine, surviving copies are highly condition-sensitive, with most examples showing handling wear from their initial packaging.Show more
