Pokemon Cards
PSA10
Pop1,191
This 2017 Japanese Pokémon Sun & Moon Promo features Pikachu wearing a Vulpix poncho (card #038/SM-P) and is graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA. Released exclusively in Japan as part of the Alolan Vulpix & Vulpix Special Box, the card features artwork by Kouki Saitou set against a reflective gold and green diagonal-striped background accented by white polka dots. Currently, there are 1,154 examples of this card graded at the PSA 10 tier, representing a well-preserved copy of a highly collected promotional design.
The Poncho-Wearing Pikachu series represents a notable era of Japanese Pokémon Center merchandise campaigns, which were never distributed in English-language markets. This particular release celebrates the Alola region by depicting Pikachu in the likeness of classic Vulpix, serving as a companion piece to the Alolan Vulpix variant in the same set. Because these promotional cards were only available within the original Special Box merchandise packaging, they occupy a unique place in the history of Sun & Moon era promotional releases.Show more
