The 2018 Pokémon Sun & Moon Japanese Promo Pikachu #288/SM-P was issued in conjunction with the "Munch: A Retrospective" exhibition held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. Illustrated by You Iribi, the artwork renders Pikachu in the artistic style of Edvard Munch's iconic painting *The Scream*. This example is graded BGS 8 (NM-MT) by Beckett Grading Services, backed by subgrades of 9.5 for Centering, 9.5 for Corners, 8.5 for Edges, and 7 for Surface. Beckett's population report lists 9 copies currently evaluated at this tier.
Distributed exclusively in Japan during the late 2018 event, the card was given to museum visitors who purchased designated expansion packs at the exhibit gift shop. It forms part of a five-card promotional crossover series alongside Eevee, Psyduck, Rowlet, and Mimikyu, with Pikachu serving as the flagship release. The card incorporates the thematic move "Scream" (さけび), which confuses both active Pokémon in play.Show more
