The 2005 Japanese Pokémon Gift Box Mew Gold Star Pikachu #001/002 features artwork by Masakazu Fukuda, depicting the shiny variant of Pikachu with its tail and body extending beyond the main frame boundary. Graded PSA 7 Near Mint, the card stands at a population of 302 in the PSA registry. The card text includes the standard Gold Star deck rule limiting players to only one Pokémon Star card in a deck.
Released exclusively in Japan as part of the pre-packaged 2005 Gift Box Mew set, Gold Star cards were introduced during the EX Era to highlight shiny colorations and unique frame-breaking illustration styles. Unlike expansion set pulls from standard booster packs, this specific promo card was obtained only through the dedicated gift set release, placing it among the key Japanese promotional cards from the mid-2000s.Show more
