Graded PSA 8 Near Mint-Mint, this 2006 Pokémon EX Crystal Guardians Alakazam Gold Star #99 features artwork by Masakazu Fukuda. Gold Star cards from the EX Series era are identified by the foil star icon beside the name line and artwork depicting the shiny color variation of the Pokémon extending outside the central illustration window. This card carries the printed gameplay restriction limiting decks to a single Pokémon Star, alongside its 80 HP and the "Psychic Select" and "Skill Copy" attacks. The PSA population report records 369 total examples at this grade.
Debuting in the EX Series, Gold Star cards are defined by low insertion rates of roughly one card per two booster boxes (1 in 72 packs), making them the central chase cards of the Third Generation TCG era. Positioned as card #99/100 in the EX Crystal Guardians expansion, Alakazam is one of 27 Gold Star Pokémon produced across the EX block. Masakazu Fukuda illustrated this rendering, capturing the distinct shiny color palette featuring dark purple armor accents.Show more
