The 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan #57 is widely recognized as the definitive rookie card of the modern era, serving as an investment-grade cornerstone for serious sports card portfolios. This specimen is graded PSA 8 (NM-MT), a highly respectable tier for a release notoriously plagued by condition sensitivities, including fragile colored borders prone to chipping and frequent centering issues. Within the PSA population database, there are 9,386 examples recorded at this NM-MT 8 grade, representing a well-preserved survivor of a highly collected vintage run.
The 1986 Fleer basketball set marked a monumental shift in the hobby, representing the first major licensed basketball release in five years and establishing the rookie cards of a historic generation of talent. Jordan's peerless career—defined by six NBA championships, five MVP awards, and his 2009 Hall of Fame induction—began its physical cataloging with this iconic image of him taking flight. Given its historical significance and the enduring legacy of the Chicago Bulls dynasty, this card remains one of the most essential acquisitions in sports history.Show more
