This 2004 Pokémon EX FireRed & LeafGreen Holo Charizard ex #105 is graded Mint 9 by PSA. Illustrated by Hiromichi Sugiyama, this card is the central chase card from the 2004 expansion. The PSA population report records 692 examples at this Mint 9 grade, highlighting the difficulty of obtaining a high-grade copy of a condition-sensitive card from this era. The card features Charizard's artwork framed by the classic EX-era silver holographic border.
Released in 2004 to celebrate the Game Boy Advance remakes of the original Generation I video games, EX FireRed & LeafGreen holds a prominent position in the history of the trading card game. The "ex" mechanic represented a major shift in competitive gameplay, introducing high-risk, high-reward cards that offered powerful attacks—such as Charizard's 200-damage "Burn Down"—balanced by the rule that your opponent takes two Prize cards when it is Knocked Out. This card stands as a hallmark of the mid-2000s Pokémon TCG.Show more
