This 1999 Japanese Pokémon promo features Alakazam #65, graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. The PSA population report records 453 copies at this grade. Illustrated by Shin-ichi Yoshida, the card showcases Alakazam in its classic Stage 2 evolution artwork set against a starfoil holo pattern, complete with the early Pocket Monsters card back. The card was distributed exclusively through Japan's 1999 Communication Evolution Campaign, widely known as the Masaki Promos. To obtain it, participants had to mail a Bill's PC card from the Vending Machine Expansion sheets along with a Kadabra card directly to Media Factory, receiving the holographic Alakazam in return. Because access was restricted strictly to this mail-in exchange mechanic rather than traditional booster packs, it remains a distinct historical promo from the early Japanese TCG era.Show more
