1986 Fleer Michael Jordan #57
Basketball Cards
BGS9
Pop1,949
This 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan #57 rookie card is graded a BGS Mint 9, supported by subgrades of 9 for Centering, 9 for Edges, 9 for Surface, and 8.5 for Corners. The 1986 Fleer set is notoriously condition-sensitive due to full-bleed red, white, and blue borders that easily chip, making this clean border preservation particularly difficult to find. In the Beckett population report, there are 2,008 examples registered at this Mint 9 grade, meaning only a select group of collectors can ever own Jordan's definitive rookie card in this condition tier.
As a blue-chip sports card asset, this card marks the pinnacle of modern basketball collecting, capturing the Chicago Bulls icon early in a career that produced six NBA championships, five regular-season MVP awards, and a 2009 Hall of Fame induction. The 1986-87 Fleer set represents a monumental era in the hobby, serving as the first major licensed basketball release of the modern era following a four-year market vacancy. Combining outstanding eye appeal with high technical subgrades, this Mint 9 rookie card stands as a cornerstone piece for any serious collection.Show more
