This 2002 Pokémon Legendary Collection Primeape #59 features the set's signature reverse-foil pattern, graded Gem Mint 10 by PSA. Illustrated by Kagemaru Himeno, this Stage 1 Fighting-type card depicts the classic Generation I character with its Fury Swipes and Tantrum attacks. Out of all submissions to PSA, only 52 copies have achieved this flawless Gem Mint 10 grade, representing a scarce survivor from a highly condition-sensitive vintage print run.
Released in 2002, the Legendary Collection served as a landmark retrospective release, reprinting beloved cards from the original Base Set, Jungle, Fossil, and Team Rocket expansions. This set introduced the Western market to the unique "fireworks" reverse-foil pattern, which covers the entire card face except for the character illustration window. Because this extensive foil coating is highly susceptible to surface scratching and edge chipping straight out of the pack, pristine Gem Mint copies of these reverse-foils remain exceptionally difficult to secure.Show more
