Pop231
This 2016 Pokémon Japanese XY Promo features Pikachu wearing a Rayquaza poncho, designated as card number 230/XY-P. Graded Gem Mint 9.5 by Beckett Grading Services (BGS), this specimen features strong subgrades, including perfect 10s for both Corners and Surface, a 9.5 for Edges, and a 9 for Centering. The BGS population report indicates that there are 233 examples graded at this Gem Mint 9.5 tier, presenting a highly preserved representative of this promotional release.
Illustrated by Kouki Saitou, this card was originally distributed exclusively in Japan within the Poncho-Wearing Pikachu Special Box in July 2016. The release celebrated the grand opening of the Pokémon Center Skytree Town in Tokyo, which adopted the Legendary Dragon-type Pokémon Rayquaza as its mascot. Part of a limited-run merchandising campaign from the late XY era, this card represents a key crossover design that remains highly distinct within Japanese promo history.Show more
