1954 Dan-Dee Potato Chips Mickey Mantle #17
Baseball Cards
PSA5
Pop69
The 1954 Dan-Dee Potato Chips Mickey Mantle is one of the premier regional food issues of the post-war era, and this PSA EX 5 example represents a blue-chip vintage asset. Because these cards were packaged directly alongside potato chips, they are notoriously condition-sensitive and highly susceptible to grease staining and handling wear. This specimen has been graded EX 5 by PSA, with a population of 69 examples at this level. The card displays strong eye appeal for the grade, showcasing vibrant color registration of the classic purple background and a remarkably clean reverse that avoids the severe oil discoloration common to the issue.
Featuring the iconic portrait of the New York Yankees legend, this regional release captures Mantle during the ascendant early years of his historic career. A three-time American League MVP and seven-time World Series champion, Mantle's early-career cards remain cornerstones of vintage portfolios. This scarce, mid-grade survivor offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire a historically challenging food-issue release in an appealing, well-preserved state.Show more
