The 1986-87 Fleer Michael Jordan #57 is the definitive rookie card of basketball's most iconic figure, establishing itself as an investment-grade cornerstone for high-end collections. This example is graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by Beckett Grading Services, featuring subgrades of 9 for Edges, 9 for Surface, 8.5 for Corners, and 8 for Centering. The Beckett population report lists 3,370 examples at this exact 8.5 tier. While the card is not serial-numbered, the notoriously condition-sensitive red, white, and blue borders of the 1986 Fleer set make finding a specimen with clean edges and corners increasingly difficult for modern collectors.
Serving as the anchor of the landmark 1986-87 Fleer basketball release—which revived the basketball card industry after a four-year production hiatus—this debut issue captures Jordan during his rise to dominance with the Chicago Bulls. Backed by Jordan's legendary career achievements including six NBA Championships, six Finals MVPs, and ten scoring titles, this card stands as the most culturally significant and recognizable sports card of the modern era.Show more
