The 2014 Pokémon Japanese XY Promo Cosplay Pikachu #099/XY-P was distributed exclusively as an insert within the official Pokémon Card Game Illustration Collection art book in Japan. Graded Gem Mint PSA 10, this example represents the highest grade assigned by Professional Sports Authenticator, with a PSA population report of 1,357 copies in this grade. Illustrated by Kanako Eo, the card face features Pikachu surrounded by its five distinct contest outfit variations.
Issued to celebrate the launch of the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire video games, the promotional release highlights the Cosplay Pikachu mechanics introduced in the Hoenn region contest halls. Because the card was distributed solely as a bound-in book promo rather than through standard sealed booster packs, acquiring copies in Gem Mint condition required precise handling and storage directly from publication.Show more
