This 1996 Japanese Base Set Squirtle comes from the historic 'No Rarity' first printing, distinguished by the missing star symbol in the bottom right corner of the card. As part of the very first run of the Pokémon TCG ever produced, these cards are significantly more difficult to track down than their standard Japanese Base Set counterparts. This example is graded a PSA 9 Mint, a grade held by just 287 copies in the PSA population, making it a standout for collectors focused on early-era condition. Illustrated by the legendary Mitsuhiro Arita, the card features the classic artwork of the No. 007 Kanto starter that helped launch the franchise. Because the 'No Rarity' set represents the true origins of the hobby in Japan, it holds a unique legacy as the foundation of the entire trading card game, offering a tangible piece of the release that started it all nearly three decades ago.Show more
