The 2025 Topps Takashi Murakami Tokyo Series Gold Foil Shohei Ohtani #1 represents a major crossover of sport and contemporary art, released exclusively via Topps and Complex to mark the MLB World Tour's return to Tokyo. This card is serial-numbered 28/50, featuring Murakami's iconic smiling cherry blossom motifs and character art framing Ohtani in his Los Angeles Dodgers home uniform. Graded PSA 10 Gem Mint, this specimen is one of just 12 examples to achieve the highest possible grade in the PSA population. The Gold Foil parallel border and vibrant floral patterns display immaculate visual preservation, making this a standout piece of modern sports card design.
Ohtani enters the 2025 season following a historic 2024 National League MVP campaign where he established MLB's first 50-50 season with 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases, culminating in a World Series championship with the Dodgers. As Ohtani prepares to play in front of his home-country fans at the Tokyo Dome, this limited-edition release serves as a physical monument to his peak cultural and athletic influence. With a print run capped at 50 and only 12 registered in Gem Mint condition, this is a scarce acquisition opportunity for high-end collectors of both modern baseball and fine art.Show more
