This 1985 Star Slam Dunk Supers 5x7 Michael Jordan #5 is graded BGS 9 Mint, featuring subgrades of 9 for Centering, 9 for Edges, 9 for Surface, and 8.5 for Corners. Part of a 10-card oversized subset produced by the Star Company, the back of the card designates it as card 5 of 10. Across the BGS population report, 433 total copies are recorded. High-grade examples are particularly condition-sensitive due to the 5x7 oversized format and original polybag distribution methods. This issue stands as an investment-grade basketball asset.
Photographed during the 1985 NBA Slam Dunk Contest in his debut 1984-85 season, the card captures Jordan taking flight in his original Air Jordan I sneakers. As the Star Company held exclusive NBA trading card licensing from 1983 through 1986, these releases represent Jordan's true contemporary collectibles issued during his rookie season, predating the standard-issue 1986 Fleer set.Show more
