This 2016 Japanese Pokémon XY Promo features the Full Art Luigi Pikachu (#296/XY-P), graded Mint 9 by PSA. There are 760 copies at this grade level in the PSA population database. Illustrated by Kouki Saitou, the card depicts Pikachu dressed in Luigi's signature green cap and overalls, posed against a vibrant, holofoil-patterned background featuring a traditional Japanese tower. The card's sharp registration, clean borders, and bright surface foil present strong overall eye appeal, consistent with the strict grading standards of a PSA Mint 9.
Released exclusively within the Luigi Pikachu Special Box in Japan in October 2016, this card represents a historic crossover collaboration between Pokémon and Nintendo's Mario franchise. These promotional boxes were distributed only at Pokémon Center retail locations in Japan, resulting in a limited print run with no subsequent Western release. This unique cross-intellectual property design and restricted distribution history make this promo one of the most distinctive and recognized Japanese-exclusive sets of the modern era.Show more
