1999 Pokemon Base Set Holo Shadowless Chansey #3
Pokemon Cards
PSA9
Pop221
This 1999 Pokémon Base Set holographic Chansey #3 features the sought-after Shadowless variation, distinguished by the absence of a drop shadow to the right of the art frame and a thinner font for its 120 HP text. Graded Mint 9 by PSA, this card is one of 221 examples at this grade within the population registry. Illustrated by Ken Sugimori, the card's expansive foil area is famously condition-sensitive, making the preservation of its pristine surfaces and sharp borders particularly difficult to achieve.
As part of the brief Shadowless print run, this card represents a transitional phase in the early history of Wizards of the Coast's English localization, produced directly after the limited 1st Edition release but before the standard Unlimited run. In early TCG gameplay, Chansey was a cornerstone card, utilizing its unmatched 120 HP to serve as the definitive defensive wall in competitive decks. This card stands as a historically significant piece from the franchise's inaugural western release.Show more
