This is a 1st Edition Japanese Kyogre Gold Star (#028/086) from the 2005 Pokémon Holon Research Tower expansion. Graded PSA 10 Gem Mint, this card represents a blue-chip TCG asset with a total population of 236 copies in this tier. The card features the shiny, magenta-hued Kyogre illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda, with the character's artwork extending beyond the traditional borders of the standard illustration frame.
Gold Star cards were introduced during the EX era to showcase Shiny Pokémon, carrying a strict deck-building restriction that permitted only one Gold Star card per deck due to their power. The Japanese Holon Research Tower set, released in 2005, is recognized for introducing these unique mechanics and distinct holographic treatments. This first-edition PSA 10 specimen remains a prominent representation of vintage EX-era Pokémon history.Show more
