The 2000 Pokémon Neo Genesis 1st Edition Holo Lugia #9 is graded BGS 9.5 Gem Mint, supported by subgrades of 9 for Centering, 9.5 for Corners, 9.5 for Edges, and 9.5 for Surface. Illustrated by Hironobu Yoshida, this example features the original 1st Edition symbol on the left side of the card frame. According to the BGS population report, 159 copies have achieved this 9.5 Gem Mint grade, with very few evaluated higher. This is an investment-grade TCG asset.
Released in October 2000, Neo Genesis introduced Generation II Pokémon to the English Trading Card Game, establishing Johto-region legendaries in card form. Lugia #9 stands as the primary chase card of the set and is well-known among collectors for severe condition sensitivity, as print lines, poor centering, and factory edge wear on early Wizards of the Coast stock make high-grade surviving copies notably scarce.Show more
