This 1976 Topps Walter Payton rookie card (#148) is graded VG-EX 4 by PSA, featuring a signature authenticated and graded Auto 9 by PSA/DNA. As the sole mainstream rookie card of the Hall of Fame running back, this card is a historically significant vintage football issue. With its valuation established above the high-value threshold, this dual-graded rookie card represents an investment-grade asset.
The 1976 Topps football set represents a landmark release of the mid-1970s sports card hobby, defined by its distinct green football nameplates and a design that is historically prone to centering issues and edge wear. Payton, a 1993 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, nine-time Pro Bowler, and 1977 NFL MVP, retired as the league's all-time leading rusher. Because Payton passed away in 1999, the absolute supply of authenticated signed examples of his rookie card is permanently limited.Show more
