The 1999 Pokémon Base Set Charizard #4 represents the flagship holographic card from the original English Wizards of the Coast release. Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, the Stage 2 Fire-type card features Charizard with 120 HP and the Energy Burn Pokémon Power. Graded Mint 9 by PSA, this example displays well-preserved card borders, sharp surface finish, and clear holographic reflection. According to the PSA population report, 8,548 copies have achieved this grade.
As card #4/102 in the set checklist, Charizard anchored the 1999 Base Set release that launched the physical Pokémon Trading Card Game in Western markets. The card established standard mechanics and design conventions that persisted throughout early TCG history, remaining the central chase card of the original era.Show more
