This 1999 Pokémon Base Set 1st Edition Holographic Charizard #4 is graded PSA 9 Mint. Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, the card features the authentic shadowless artwork border, thin font style, and original 1st Edition stamp anchored below the foil frame. PSA records show a population of 729 examples at the Mint 9 tier. As the flagship card of the inaugural English TCG release, this is a cornerstone piece for a serious collection.
Issued in Wizards of the Coast's initial 1999 print run, the 1st Edition Base Set established the foundation for the worldwide Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion. The shadowless variant represents the earliest state of the English release before the addition of visual depth borders for subsequent print runs. Decades after its release, card #4 remains the primary key card of the entire vintage Pokémon era.Show more
