Learn how to list your first card for sale on Alt, including the authentication process, pricing strategy, and when you'll receive payment.

If you're a collector looking to sell cards on Alt for the first time, this guide walks you through every step — from preparing your card to receiving payment.

Step 1: Prepare Your Card

You'll need: a graded card from a recognized grading company (PSA, BGS, CGC, etc.), the card details (player, year, set, grade), and a free Alt account at alt.xyz.

Step 2: Understanding Authentication

Alt verifies that graded cards are legitimate and meet marketplace standards. Your card's existing grade is what you'll list with — no re-grading needed. Authentication details are visible to both you and potential buyers.

Step 3: List Your Card

Go to My Collection → select Sell next to your card → enter card details → set your price (check recent comps in Alt's marketplace data) → add photos if needed → choose Fixed Price or Auction → review and publish.

Step 4: Price Strategically

Check recent comps, consider the grade, factor in market trends, and be realistic. You can adjust your price anytime if your card hasn't sold.

Step 5: When Do You Get Paid?

After your card sells, Alt processes payment and deposits funds to your connected bank account. Once sold, ship the card to Alt's vault — payment is released after receipt and verification. Transaction fees are deducted from the sale price per the seller fee schedule.

Tips for Success

Start with cards you're confident about. Be accurate about condition. Pack carefully. Respond quickly to buyer inquiries. Build your Alt Rewards tier over time for lower fees and better bonuses.
