Whether you want to buy now or bid in a live auction, Alt makes buying sports cards easy. Here's everything you need to know to get started.
Alt gives you two ways to buy graded sports cards: the Fixed Price Marketplace for instant purchases, and Alt Auctions for competitive bidding on rare, high-grade cards. Here's how both work.
Buying at Fixed Price
Alt's Fixed Price Marketplace lets you search across Alt, eBay, Fanatics, and Goldin in one place. Zero buyer fees.
Buy It Now: Find a card, make the purchase, and it's yours. Payment must be initiated within 4 days. Alt accepts credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, WeChatPay, Amazon Pay, and CashApp.
Make an Offer: Submit a private offer. The seller can accept or counter at any price between your offer and their list price. Counteroffers are valid for 24 hours and you get up to 5 offers per card (negotiations reset after 30 days).
Buying in Alt Auctions
Alt Auctions run on a two-week cycle, starting every Friday morning. Enter your maximum bid privately — Alt's system bids on your behalf in increments until you win or hit your ceiling. At 9PM ET on day 14, Extended Bidding kicks in and any new bid extends the closing window.
The final price is one increment above the second-highest bid (or your maximum, whichever is lower), plus a 20% buyer's premium. For purchases under $10,000, payment is due within one hour post-auction. For $10,000+, you have five days.
For auction bids over $10,000, you'll need a bank account on file for ACH and may need to complete high-value bidding verification through Alt Support.
After You Buy: Your Alt Vault
Every card you purchase lives in the Alt Vault — a secure, climate-controlled facility in Delaware. Ownership transfers instantly upon payment. Monitor card values in your Collection, and request physical shipment anytime via Menu → My Account → Shipments → Ship from Vault. Shipping and insurance fees apply.
